Bone broth has a pretty incredible impact when it comes to sustainability and nurturing both our bodies and the Earth. If you’re interested in bone broth, you’ve probably already heard some of the amazing things it can do for you or your health, but it’s also great for the Earth and the environment. Today we’ll break down how we play a part in sustainability practices to keep bone broth tasting great and preserving the planet.
One of the most wonderful aspects of our bone broth is its unwavering commitment to sustainability, day in and day out. Unlike other companies that might only engage in sporadic Earth Day events or charitable initiatives, our dedication to the planet is a constant presence in everything we do. It's woven into the fabric of our brand, a daily reminder of our responsibility to Mother Nature.
At its core, our sustainability efforts stem from a deep understanding of the environmental impact of traditional food production methods. From the carbon emissions of conventional farming to the strain on water resources, the journey from farm to table can take a toll on our planet.
This is one of the reasons we started making bone broth. After we made a meal and had leftover bones and scrap, we just felt weird throwing the remains in the garbage. “I thought, there's got to be something we can make with these.”, says Patrick our Founder.
As we learned more about the process, we discovered butchers, ranchers, and processors that are trying to sell all of the parts that typically don't get bought by the restaurants or the grocery stores of the world —think bones and organ meats. Coincidentally, those are the most nutritious parts of the animal. We’re able to turn "scraps" into nourishing elixirs that benefit both your health and the environment. It's a small but meaningful way to reduce waste and harness the full potential of every ingredient.
Of course, our sustainability journey isn't a solo endeavor. We're proud to partner with suppliers who share our values and prioritize ethical and environmentally friendly practices. From farmers committed to regenerative agriculture to processors who prioritize transparency, we're forging partnerships that align with our vision for a healthier planet.
Another key pillar of our sustainability efforts is our commitment to preserving nature without artificial interference. While some producers might rely on synthetic preservatives and additives to extend shelf life, we take a different approach. By crafting bone broth naturally, without artificial processes, we're minimizing our environmental footprint and supporting a more sustainable production cycle.
